A Whole Lottie Love

We all know that Jojo loves us, and now my niece Lottie LOVES Jojo!

While in Boston a few weeks ago, this little munchkin couldn't keep her little paws off Jojo's beaded braclets. And who could blame her???
Oversized beads with diamond spacers! Real stunners!
Looks as though Aunt Poppins fabulous taste is rubbing off on this little Wyoming lady.

Va Va VOOM!

L.A.'s Joy Han has designed some absolutely darling shirts and dresses for the summer. Her fabulous line Voom, which launched in 2002, and Voom's sister line
Va Va are both feminine and glamorous lines that are vintage-inspired and classic with a twist. Any of these tops will look great with skinny jeans or white trousers, and the dresses are easy to throw on with some flips flops for an afternoon barbeque or a day of bopping around the city.

Pop into your favorite Mint Julep location or peruse our online store to shop these and more styles by Va Va and Voom!

Summer in the City! (NYC)

Here are some snapshots of a few Julep outings in Manhattan... Our summer in NYC has been off to a great start! We had a visit from our dear Mandy (a retired Julep) and we hit the town in the Meatpacking District and then spent a Sunday afternoon in Times Square for a Broadway matinee. I had my birthday party at Radegast Biergarten in Brooklyn (there's Brooke, Christina and me, and then Sam and her best friend Ann and me). And last week we had a Friday night bowling outting (pictured are Sam's and my feet!). Can't wait for some more summertime adventures!

The Famous Sex and the City Belt!

That's right, the belt that Sarah Jessica Parker cleverly incorporated into just about every outfit in the Sex and the City movie is at Mint Julep. The original piece was a vintage find, but this belt by Streets Ahead is modeled after the very belt they used in the movie, so you'll be very SJP in this piece.

That's not all, we have it in purple too!

Mintz & Sam's Top 10 Reasons to Visit the Lower East Side this Summer

#1 - Obviously, to shop the lovely Mint Julep for all your summer must-haves: a special occasion dress, flouncy frocks for the warm weather, the perfect handbag, a fabulous San Diego hat to keep the sun off your face while you're strolling in Central Park, or whatever other accessories your heart desires this season.

#2 - The food! Everyone knows that the Mint Julep girls love to eat. Visit the Lower East Side to visit some famous haunts. Get a pastrami sandwich at Katz's Deli on Ludlow (while you're there you can re-enact the famous scene from Harry Met Sally), then turn onto Houston and head to Russ & Daughters for the best pickle from a barrel in the city. For a star-studded meal, head over to Inoteca, a celeb hot spot, for some cheese plates and wine. Or stroll down to Moby's Teany for a scone and a "cowboy cookie."

#3 - The candy store!!! Anyone who has a sweet tooth must get themselves to the Economy Candy store on Rivington, where you will find all your favorite old fashioned candies. We stock up regularly on our favorite, Mint Juleps!

#4 - Get some culture at the Tenement Museum. Connect with your roots during one of their tours and buy yourself a souvenir at their gift shop.

#5 - The music scene. Ludlow Street loves musicians! Any night of the week you can listen to a live band down here on the Lower East Side. Stop by our favorite places - The Cake Shop or Piano's. While you're at the Cake Shop, snack on a vegan cupcake, or sit at the bar at Piano's and feast on a burger and fries.

#6 - Sangria Mondays at Tre! A Mintz & Sam tradition. Bring a friend and have a spaghetti-eatting contest next door to Mint Julep any Monday night. For $19, eat as much spaghetti as you can while drinking as much sangria as you can get down. YUM!!!

#7 - A cool haircut. Check out Tommy Guns, Pimps & Pinups (where our Christina Salerno often gets her bangs trimmed), Kropps & Bobbers, or any of the other salons on Ludlow. You'll be sure to leave with a super-cool do.

#8 - Happy Hour! The night goes late on the Lower East Side, but it sure starts out early! Check out some of our favorite places to get an evening cocktail for half the price. Try Verlaine for a lychee martini or Spitzer's for a beer and some delicious appetizers. You may run into Mintz and Sam at Schiller's sitting at the old-fashioned bar.

#9 - Sunday brunch! Head back to Tre for their unlimited champagne brunch or take your friends to Stanton Social to share some small plates. Try the Clinton Bakery when you want to leave the restaurant stuffed, or go to Spitzer's for some blackberry pancakes.

#10 - To find your own favorite places! Stop into the Julep and let us know if you have stumbled upon any hidden gems!

Bon Voyage, Margot!

It's a sad day for the Julep girls (and customers!), our dear Margot has left us to follow her heart to Australia, but not without a proper send off! We had a lovely evening sharing our favorite Margot stories over pizza and beer at Cambridge 1 in Harvard Square.

We will miss you, Margot. Thank you so much for everything! xoxo
