With temperatures outside the New York Julep dropping to the 30s, we can no longer deny that Fall (and soon enough, Winter) is upon us.

One of the best things about the chilly weather and the upcoming holiday season is the variety of delightful smells that we have to look forward to. From the scent of fresh-baked cookies to the smell of a crackling fireplace-there's really nothing better than coming in from the cold to a comforting scent.

Luckily we just received our latest shipment from good ol' Aunt Sadie, and the scents couldn't be any sweeter...






My favorite? Baked Pumpkin Pie. But don't take my word for it-come on by and see which holiday scent suits you best.

Mint Julep takes London!

I just got back from a lovely stay in London but there was one thing that was (not surprisingly) not so lovely-the weather-it was windy by day, and chilly by night. Of course, I failed to come prepared and ended up wearing the same hoodie, day and night.

Yarnz Scarves!

This fall Mint Julep has STOCKED UP on tons of fabulous scarves in an array of stunning prints and patterns. The latest scarves to arrive were some fabulous 100% cashmere Yarnz scarves. Each is lovely whether you pair it simply with a plain tee or underneath your favorite jacket. Better yet, they make great gifts that will outfit your loved ones in style. Why Hello All!

I am super happy to report that after an entire year I finally have my own blog id. Yaaayyyy! Happy Fall to me! I'm reporting live from MJ NYC where it is a perfect early Fall day. The sun shinesbrightly during the daylight hours but in the evening the temperature drops a bit. Thus, I think it is safe to say that jacket season is soon upon us and lucky for me I LOVE jackets!

I must admit I have a reputation for never taking off a new jacket I love. Brooke likes to remind me of Fall 2006 when I didn't remove my Marc Jacobs navy zip up sweatshirt jacket from my body for the entire season. What can I say--a gorgeous jacket always makes the cold weather more tolerable!

Anyway... The point of this entry is to talk about my obsession with chris and jaime's new black cape. Made of 80% wool and 20% nylon it is light enough to wear in the evenings now and heavy enough to wear deep into the fall. Tried capes before and can't make them work? This one has full buttons down the front so you can unbutton or button up to your liking. There are actual arm holes so you always know where to put your arms (basic I know but capes can be tricky!!) In general I don't like to wear wool (I get too hot and I don't like the texture on my skin) but if the weight is light enough and the hand is smooth enough I will oblige. The 80% wool and 20% nylon is the perfect mix-- it allows the warmth of wool yet feels like a heavy cotton on the skin. And, the best thing yet is that it is one size fits all! Ahhh, the beauty of a cape...

Hi everyone, and happy Sunday!

I'd like to take the time to introduce myself. I'm Robin, and I'm happy to say that I'm Mint Julep's newest shop girl! Based out of the New York store, this is my second day in training and I'm still trying to figure out the ways of a Mint Julep girl. Brooke and Stephanie have been the sweetest and most patient teachers that a gal could ask for, so I'm pretty lucky!

It's only my second day here, and I've already got my eye on so many things in the store! The fall season will be here before we know it and I've been feeling the need for some new duds as it is. Let's just say that spending my day surrounded by all of the lovely pieces at Mint Julep has me itching to add some new pieces to my already cramped wardrobe.

Here are some of my Mint Julep favorites:

This Plenty Frock! by Tracy Reese features so many beautiful colors, and reminds me of a watercolor painting.



These Fenoma Teal Resin studs are the perfect way to compliment a casual outfit. Simple and understated, but the teal color makes it perfect for Fall!
This Kyumi Dot Top would be perfect under a blazer. Bonus-it's a racer back!


And finally, this Lia Molly cardigan which features front pockets that resemble coin purses. Too adorable and too clever!

Shout out in Fitness Magazine!

Recently at Mint Julep we all went out for a night out on the town at the Bristol Lounge, Julep Style. For those of you who don't know us, a Julep's idea of a night out on the town usually consists of an opportunity to dress up in a pretty dress (obviously) and consume obscene amounts of food! Nothing is more shocking than a Julep's ability to put away some "snacks" and, in this case, we really pulled out all the stops. We feasted on truffle fries, cheese plates, and (as you can see in the pic) an array of desserts fit for a queen! So, if you're ever out and about and you see a splash of color and a flurry of hands reaching for some fries...you may have found us!

Fashion Boston Shoutout!

Congratulations to our very own B and Steph for making Fashion Boston's 100 Best Dressed Bostonians List of 2009! Alongside Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Red Sox favorite, Big Papi, sit the original Juleps themselves: Stephanie Nist and Brooke Garber, Owners of Mint Julep Boutique, "for taking just plain pretty dressing to the next level."
